Popular music festival returns to Appleby House

Home news

Appleby House is inviting the local community to its ‘Showtime Spectacular’ featuring a variety of special musical performances.

On Saturday 4thAugust, from 4pm-8.15pm, the team will open the doors to the home for a night of unmissable musical acts.

Residents and guests will be treated to a special performance in the home’s garden and have the chance to sing and dance along to their favourite hits. The performances have been specially adapted to engage those living with dementia and appeal to all ages.

This year’s lineup features Francis Fry, performing well-known hits from musicals, alongside jazz and blues performer Rebecca Burraway, and country and western duo Haley and Gerry Judge. High baritone James Schouten will close the show with renditions of popular classical music.

As well as enjoying the musical entertainment, guests will be able to relax in the home’s garden with a delicious selection of tasty treats throughout the evening.

Home manager at Appleby House, Shona Bradbury, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing back our popular music festival, and excited to host a number of different acts in this year’s lineup – there really is something for everyone! Music can be a powerful reminiscence activity for those living with dementia, and the show has been written to try and encourage just that.

“There is already a buzz of excitement here among the residents at the home, and we look forward to welcoming the local community for what promises to be a night to remember. Tickets are available for £15 for adults and £7.50 for children, and all of the proceeds will be donated to Age Concern Epsom & Ewell and Purple Angels.”
