Care UK and specialist development partner, Hamberley Development, have celebrated the start of work on the purpose-built home on Warfield Road. When complete, the new care facilities will provide full time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 77 older people, and will create over 115 full time equivalent jobs.
The four-storey home, which is expected to welcome its first residents in summer 2019, will include facilities such as a cinema, café and hairdressing salon. Secure and wheelchair-friendly landscaped outdoor space will include sensory gardens, water features and seating to give residents the opportunity to spend quality time outdoors.
Gary Renton, project manager for Care UK, said: “We are delighted work has begun on the new care home in Bracknell, not least because this impressive development reflects our commitment to improving the provision of residential care in the town.
“At Care UK, we take great pride in the build quality, layout and design of each individual home, as these factors can greatly impact the everyday experiences of those living in a care environment. Our new care home will live up to these standards, and will provide a quality home for older people in Bracknell and beyond.”
John Austin, development director at Hamberley Development, said: “Development of this high-quality new care facility has got off to a great start. Building contractor Lawrence Baker is on schedule to complete the scheme in August 2019. This is a high-profile project for Hamberley and we are proud to be playing a part in the delivery of this much-needed new care home for the Bracknell community.”
