On Wednesday 13th June, from 2pm-4pm, Abney Court will open its doors to the local community to offer practical advice on how to recognise, understand, and improve health and wellbeing as part of Carers Week.
Gemma Wrigley and Adam Murray, from SelfHelp, a user-led mental health charity, will discuss how to recognise triggers and symptoms that indicate when wellbeing is compromised, understand the connection between symptoms, thoughts and behavior, and offer advice on how best to reduce the impact of stress, worry and low mood.
Tracy Mitchell, home manager at Abney Court, said: “At Abney Court we have a commitment of care and that extends to the local community, and our neighbors who care for loved ones at home. We are keen to raise awareness of Carers Week and wanted to provide carers in the community with support for their own wellbeing and health.
“We look forward to welcoming members of the Cheadle community into our home on Wednesday 13th June to give them all the tools they need to ensure they are taking good care of themselves. We strongly recommend visitors to book in advance, as places are limited.”
