On Saturday 19th April, from 11am-2pm, Snowdrop House is inviting local people for a ‘right royal knees up’ and to raise a glass to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The home will be adorned with union jack bunting and residents will have their British flags at the ready for a live screening of the wedding. The team has also organised a British street party and afternoon tea - complete with cucumber sandwiches and the chef’s own version of Harry and Meghan’s lemon and elderflower wedding cake.
Residents and visitors will be able to watch the royal wedding live from 12pm, and are being encouraged to dress up for the occasion.
Cheryl Forshaw, home manager at Snowdrop House said: “We were all so excited when we heard there was to be another royal wedding, and knew we had to do something to celebrate!
“Here at Snowdrop House, many of the residents have fond memories of the royal family and the many weddings and celebrations over the years, so this is a brilliant opportunity to reminisce and share stories from the past.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the people of Ware to the home and to toasting the happy couple for what promises to be a wonderful day of celebrations.”
