From 2.30pm-3.30pm, Scarlet House is inviting local people to mark Dementia Awareness Week with a free event to learn more about what it is like to live with dementia.
Dementia Friends Champions and customer relations managers, Roxy Pratley and Jim MacLeod, from neighboring care home Winchcombe Place, will discuss how best to turn knowledge into action to help create a more dementia friendly community in Stroud.
Katherine Matthews, home manager at Scarlet House, said: “At Scarlet House we have a commitment to encourage others to learn about dementia and we are really proud of the progress we have made by supporting Dementia Friends. We want to educate people, but also help the community turn their knowledge into action by making our community more aware of those living with dementia, and Dementia Awareness week provides the perfect opportunity to do just that.
“We look forward to welcoming the people of Stroud to our event on Thursday 24th May and help spread awareness in our local community.”
