The team at Mill View welcomed the people of East Grinstead to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.
The team marked the occasion by throwing two days of royal-inspired celebrations in honour of the Queen’s 92nd birthday. Guests enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea, and enjoyed live entertainment from professional musician, Van Loulis.
Debbie Wheeler, home manager at Mill View, said: “We had a fantastic afternoon marking Care Home Open Day at Mill View. The residents all really enjoyed celebrating the Queen’s birthday and Van Loulis’ performance was just fantastic.
“Care Home Open Day is all about building bridges with our local community, and showing what life in a care home is really like, so it was brilliant to see so many of our neighbours come along to celebrate. We would like to say a big thank you to Van Loulis and the people of East Grinstead for making the day so special.”
