The team at Oak House welcomed the people of Slough to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.
Residents and visitors raised a glass to the Queen on her 92nd birthday and celebrated the day with a royal-inspired party. Guests enjoyed a special tea dance with a performance from local group, Bateman Dance Studio, and a delicious afternoon tea, prepared specially by the home’s chefs.
Julie Bignell, home manager at Oak House, said: “We had a fantastic day celebrating the Queen’s birthday and spending time with friends, family and visitors.
“It was fantastic to see so many of our neighbours join us for the occasion, and we hoped they enjoyed the day as much as we all did. We’d like to say a big thank you to Bateman Dance Studio for providing us with wonderful entertainment and making the day extra special.”
