On Friday 20th April, from 10.30am-4pm, the team at Winchcombe Place will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Winchcombe Place has organised a royal-inspired traditional cream tea party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include a special visit from Lu’s Owls with a selection of owls to meet and hold at 10.30am. There will also be live music from Trinity School Swing Band and visitors will have a chance to meet Winchcombe Place’s friendly team.
Cliff Hutchings, home manager at Winchcombe Place, said: “At Winchcombe Place, we’re always looking for ways to get to know our neighbours better and build relationships with the local community. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of bringing generations together for a fun-filled day, showcasing all that the home has to offer.
“We look forward to welcoming the people of Newbury for what promises to be another fantastic open day.”
