Join Sunningdale Court for a royal celebration this Care Home Open Day

Sunningdale Court is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Saturday 21st April, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Sunningdale Court on Birkdale Way will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Sunningdale Court has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include a traditional afternoon tea, 1970s themed activities and a ‘dress to impress’ dress code.

Linda Portlock, home manager at Sunningdale Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that spans the generations.

“We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase everything Sunningdale Court has to offer, and the difference care homes can make to peoples’ lives and their wellbeing. Residents have enjoyed creating homemade crowns ahead of the royal celebration, and we look forward to welcoming the people of Hull for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
