On Saturday 21st April, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Scarlet House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Scarlet House has organised a Commonwealth themed party to celebrate the open day, with homemade bunting, inspired by countries from around the Commonwealth, decorating the home. Visitors can look forward to delicious food and refreshments specially prepared by Scarlet House’s in-house chefs, including British tea and cakes, an Australian barbecue and Caribbean rum cocktails.
There will be fun activities for the whole family throughout the home inspired by places including Africa, India, the Caribbean, the UK and Australia. Visitors can also look forward to a traditional English Tea Party and Commonwealth themed scavenger hunt.
Katherine Matthews, home manager at Scarlet House, said: “Care Home Open Day provides residents and the Care UK team with a fantastic opportunity to welcome the local community to the home. Residents have really enjoyed decorating Scarlet House with homemade bunting, inspired by countries from around the Commonwealth. We hope that the people of Stroud will join us in making this year’s event one to remember.”
