Join Ponteland Manor for a royal celebration this Care Home Open Day

Ponteland Manor is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Saturday 21st April, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Ponteland Manor will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Ponteland Manor has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. Residents are inviting local people for a garden party celebration with traditional afternoon tea and complimentary refreshments. There will also be a live performance from the Newcastle City Temple Salvation Army Band at 2pm. Ponteland Manor will also celebrate the birthday of one their residents, Rosemary Adams, born the same day as the Queen.

Mary Usher, home manager at Ponteland Manor, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that spans the generations.

“We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase everything Ponteland Manor has to offer, and the difference care homes can make to peoples’ lives and their wellbeing. Residents have enjoyed creating homemade crowns ahead of the royal celebration, and we look forward to welcoming the people of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
