On Saturday 21st April, from 10.30am-4.30pm, the team at Mountfitchet House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92ndbirthday, Mountfitchet House has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include a traditional afternoon tea with a reading from the care home’s poetry club, followed by a royal-themed supper and cake competition.
There will also be a musical comedy performance and patriotic sing-a-long with the staffand royal-themed games.
Allison Squires, home manager at Mountfitchet House, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that spans the generations.
“We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase everything Mountfitchet House has to offer, and the difference care homes can make to peoples’ lives and their wellbeing. Residents have enjoyed creating homemade crowns ahead of the royal celebration, and we look forward to welcoming the people of Stansted for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
