On Friday 20th April, from 10am-4pm, the team at Heather View will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Heather View has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include Heather View’s very own Buckingham Palace garden party with traditional afternoon tea, including a homemade birthday cake. There will also be live entertainment from the Victory Vs, a harmonic duo, performing songs through the ages.
Visitors can also look forward to an interactive talk with local entertainer Nigel Dawson including photos, music and information about the Queen through her reign as well as a royal photo booth with props and a life size cut out of the Queen.
Natasha King, home manager at Heather View, said: “At Heather View we’re always looking for ways to get to know our neighbours better and build relationships with the local community. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of bringing generations together for a fun-filled day, showcasing all that the home has to offer.
“We look forward to welcoming the people of Crowborough for what promises to be another fantastic open day.”
