The team at Cavell Court welcomed the people of Cringleford to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.
Residents and visitors played games and took part in competitions, including guess the weight of the union jack cake, to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War. The chefs also prepared a special buffet for everyone to enjoy.
Jennie Rodger, home manager at Cavell Court said: “We had a wonderful day celebrating Care Home Open Day here at Cavell Court. We had a great day of fun and games which the residents all really enjoyed.
“It was fantastic to see so many of our neighbours come along for the party, after all, Care Home Open Day is all about building bridges with our local community, and showing what life in a care home is really like, so we hope everyone enjoyed themselves and we look forward to opening our doors again very soon!”
