Brook Court receives a set of fidget quilts from the Women’s Institute

Brook Court has received some special gifts from the Women’s Institute for the benefit of residents living with dementia.

The team at Brook Court received a special visit from representatives of the Women’s Institute, who donated four fidget quilts to the home.

People living with dementia often have restless hands and can find comfort in having something for their hands to do. Fidget quilts can help them to quieten their minds and provide a much-needed distraction for the most anxious residents.

Home manager, Gill Pratt said: “At Brook Court we have a commitment to ensure all residents receive the best possible care and can be as independent as possible, which is particularly important for those living with dementia

“We are extremely grateful for this generous donation from the Women’s Institute. Fidget quilts can make a huge difference in the lives of people living with dementia, and I am sure the residents will very much enjoy having these on hand.”
