The team at Amberley Lodge welcomed the people of Purley to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.
The sun was shining as residents and visitors enjoyed a fun-filled day of decorating delicious cupcakes and enjoying live entertainment and games. The residents enjoyed putting their many talents to good use, including singing and dancing, for a fun-filled talent show for family and friends. Visitors were also treated to a delicious Commonwealth-inspired banquet.
Krystyna Bosko, home manager at Amberley Lodge said: We had a fantastic day celebrating Care Home Open Day at Amberley Lodge. The residents all really enjoyed showing off their talents in front of friends and family, and it was fantastic to see so many of our neighbours come along for the party.
“Care Home Open Day is all about building bridges with our local community, and showing what life in a care home is really like – and what better way to do so than by celebrating in the sunshine! We would like to say a big thank you to the people of Purley for joining us.”
