The team at Murrayside, on South Beechwood, were joined by developer and construction partners, Metnor Construction and CQC Project Services to celebrate the home taking one step closer to completion.
The project is on track to create more than 100 jobs when the care home is fully commissioned and will welcome its first residents in September this year.
Gary Renton, construction project manager for Care UK, said: “As the latest addition to a growing portfolio of residential care homes, Murrayside represents a major investment for Care UK. When complete, the purpose-built care home will boost the provision of quality residential care for up to 63 older people, as well as creating jobs for the local community.
“It was brilliant to have been able to celebrate this important building milestone as we step ever-closer to opening the doors to older people in Murrayfield. I cannot wait to see the first residents settling in.”
Paul Salkeld, contract manager of Metnor Construction, which is overseeing the development in Murrayfield, added: “The Murrayside development will provide Murrayfield with a unique facility that will enable retirees to live an independent and active lifestyle of the highest quality. It will deliver a safe, comfortable and enjoyable community for older people in a luxury environment.”
“We have enjoyed a longstanding and close working relationship with Care UK, and this project is an extension of our excellent partnership, while further enhancing our proud and growing tradition within the care sector.”
