As well as discussing the common causes of slips and trips, Cerys and Cheryl will also be on hand to provide expert advice on how to create safer environments for older people, as well as discussing the activities and exercises that relatives can implement to help improve their loved ones’ balance.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Mill View and take a tour of the care home.
Mill View home manager, Debbie Wheeler, said: “Here at Mill View, we seek to provide in-depth advice to people in the local community on topics relating to our work. Falls prevention is very important to the team, and to the wellbeing of the residents, as accidental falls can occasionally lead to further health issues.
“It is imperative we create a safe environment for older people in the community, and ensure that family and friends have the correct information to prevent accidents, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to Mill View for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
