Weald Heights spreads the festive feeling

Weald Heights was joined by a local primary school for a festive day of carol singing.

Residents at Weald Heights welcomed pupils from West Lodge Primary School to the home for a festive sing-along.

The school pupils and residents enjoyed a special performance by the West Lodge band, and all were invited to join in with their favourite songs.

Weald Heights home manager, Maria Covington, said: “We were delighted to be joined by West Lodge Primary School for our Christmas carols evening to help spread festive cheer here at Weald Heights. We hope to make all residents feel at home with plenty of traditional festivities planned throughout December.

“When it comes to evoking memories and raising cheer, the power of music is incredibly strong; and what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than with carol singing.  Many people living with dementia can recall favourite tunes from years ago, and it was lovely to see the residents getting involved and singing along to some of their favourite festive songs with the school children.”
