The team at Chandler Court on Recreation Road, were joined by developer and construction partner, Stepnell, and guest of honour Councillor Rita Dent.
The project is on track to create more than 100 jobs when the care home is fully commissioned, and will welcome its first residents early next year.
Jo Gill, home manager at Chandler Court, said: “As the latest addition to a growing portfolio of residential care homes, Chandler Court represents a major investment for Care UK. When complete, the purpose-built care home will boost the provision of quality residential care for up to 81 older people, as well as creating jobs for the local community.
“I am delighted to have been a part of this milestone as we step ever-closer to opening the doors to older people in Bromsgrove. I am thrilled too that Councillor Rita Dent was able to join us for the occasion and I look forward to welcoming her back to see the home once complete.”
David Berry, contracts manager at Stepnell, who is overseeing the development in Bromsgrove, added: “Our team are delighted to have marked this key stage in the construction programme with our partners at Care UK. This project will deliver beautifully-designed individual accommodation for residents, complemented by high-quality communal facilities, and we’re all excited to see the impressive building beginning to take shape.”
The new four-storey care home, which will feature 81 ensuite bedrooms, has been designed to enable its residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and will include its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
