Care UK homes from across the region took part in the festivities at Ambleside, with team members dressing up in period attire including doublets, tunics, corsets and striking headpieces.
Guests were transported to the Middle Ages with themed entertainment, including a sword melee, falconry air display and a medieval banquet, featuring a hog roast and traditional desserts.
Each care home designed a traditional crest to represent their home, and proudly displayed their heraldry to guests and residents.
Clare Mudge, home manager at Ambleside, commented: “We had a fantastic day for the medieval garden party, everyone really got behind the theme and we saw some wonderful costumes and crests. The residents loved seeing everyone in fancy dress, and there was a real sense of camaraderie as the care homes from across the region came together.
“As well as being a brilliant day for residents and guests, the event really fitted into our Activity Based Care approach, and provided an opportunity to bring together residents from different homes to help build new friendships.
“We look forward to hosting events like this again in the future.”
