From 2pm-4pm, Ferndown Manor is inviting the community to join residents for an afternoon of coffee, cake and entertainment to help raise money for dementia services at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Guests will enjoy a relaxing afternoon sharing a cuppa with residents, along with a tempting selection of homemade cakes and treats - all of which will be available for a small donation to the charity.
Bournemouth Hospital Charity exists to help enhance the care and treatment of patients at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals. The very first ‘Brew Up’ campaign in 2016 raised over £3,500 for the hospital, which led to the purchase of 10 Therapeutic Intervention Kits (TIK) that were used on wards.
Home manager, Janet Lewis, explained why Ferndown Manor is taking part in the Brew Up: “Many residents of Ferndown Manor have received support from the hospital, and having helped so many people we wanted to find a way to say thank you and help to create a more comfortable ward for future patients living with dementia.
“The Brew Up gives us a wonderful opportunity to invite local people, family and friends to join us for a fun afternoon, while raising funds to support the vital dementia services provided by Royal Bournemouth Hospital. We hope the local community will join the Care UK team to support this very worthwhile cause.”
