From 12.30pm, the team at Ambleside is welcoming the community to join residents for a free screening of Ladies in Lavender.
The home runs monthly screenings on the last Wednesday of every month which are open to the public, and provide the ideal venue for those living with dementia to enjoy a feature film in a relaxed and safe environment.
As well as free entry to the film, guests can also enjoy coffee and cake and can meet the team at Ambleside.
Ambleside home manager, Clare Mudge, said: “Here at Ambleside, we encourage residents to continue activities that they would have enjoyed in their younger years. Going to the cinema would have been a popular pastime for many residents, and our cinema has been designed to give them the opportunity to enjoy the classic films from the comfort of their home.
“We’re delighted to be able to open this up to those in the community who are living with dementia, or those who may find it difficult to go to a conventional cinema. Our cinema club creates a safe space for older people to enjoy watching films, which as well as being a fun activity, can also be a valuable reminiscence activity.”
The cinema has 12 of seats so booking in advance is essential.
