Residents from Appleby House attended a special grand launch to mark the opening of a new exhibition at Bourne Hall. They were joined by special guests, Epsom and Ewell Mayor, Councillor Liz Frost, as well as their relatives and friends.
Over the past year, residents at Appleby House have taken part in a number of art workshops and activity sessions, inspired by techniques from some of the world’s most famous artists. Among the collection of painting are pieces inspired by wildlife found in the home’s gardens and scenes from the local area.
The exhibition, which includes almost 90 unique paintings created by residents at Appleby House, is currently on display at Bourne Hall until Friday 11th August for the whole community to enjoy.
Home manager at Appleby House, Shona Bradbury, said: “We were thrilled to attend the opening night of the exhibition at Bourne Hall, and the residents had a wonderful evening showing off their hard work to their relatives and special guests.
“So many residents at Appleby House enjoy taking part in the art based activities we host, and we have so many wonderful creations that we’ve even opened our own gallery at the home. The residents were thrilled to hear that their artwork would be displayed for the whole community. Seeing their creations in the gallery for the first time was a memorable moment for all.”
