Residents at Care UK’s Colne View, on Dame Mary Walk were joined by friends, family, and residents from neighbouring, Tall Trees care home for a day of celebrations.
Visitors took a trip down memory lane with a screening of the 1966 World Cup Final in the care home’s cinema, and entertainment from local group Tanglewood, who performed an assortment of 1960s hits to get everyone into the party spirit.
As well as taking part in arts & crafts activities residents and guests tucked into a 60s inspired meal of prawn cocktail to start, ‘Coq au Vin’ and chocolate mousse cake for dessert – all prepared specially by the care home’s chefs.
Omar Taylor, home manager at Colne View said: “We all had a wonderful time marking our fifth birthday with a 1960s themed party. It was a wonderful opportunity for residents to celebrate the warm, friendly community we have created here at Colne View with a fun filled day of crafts, entertainment and delicious food!”
