Norfolk House was one of thousands of care homes across the UK to take part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
To celebrate the open day, Norfolk House organised a world cuisine party where residents and visitors enjoyed tasty treats inspired by a variety of cuisines from around the globe. They were also entertained with live music from Bollywood Beauties and everyone enjoyed a quiz to name famous landmarks.
Sabu Prothasis, home manager at Norfolk House, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day is a particular highlight each year as it is a brilliant opportunity to showcase our home and celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike.
“This year’s event was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building our links within the local community. We hope that all our visitors enjoyed themselves as much as we did and look forward to welcoming them back to the home for events in the future.”
