The team at Perry Manor opened the doors to the care home for the family-friendly event in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Residents and visitors enjoyed fun and games including a traditional tin can alley, giant Jenga and live 1950s music from local singer, Martin Leonard. Guests were also treated to a sizzling barbecue prepared by head chef, Peter McGregor.
Katherine Matthews, home manager at Perry Manor, said: “We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating Care Home Open Day with the local community. The event was a brilliant opportunity to break down preconceptions about care home life and showcase the warm and welcoming care environment here at Perry Manor.
“The residents loved taking part in the summer games, and everyone enjoying tucking into the barbecue in the June sunshine. We look forward to welcoming the people of Worcester to join us again very soon.”
