Join Winchcombe Place for teddy bear’s picnic to celebrate Care Home Open Day

Home news

Winchcombe is inviting local people to visit the home Friday 16th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 12.30pm-2.30pm, the team at Winchcombe Place will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

Winchcombe Place has organised a teddy bear’s picnic to celebrate the open day. There will be fun and games for all the family, and live music from the Trinity School Swing Band. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a cream tea and shake hands with Winchcombe Place’s Giant Teddy Bear!

Those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Winchcombe Place and take a tour of the care home.

Cliff Hutchings, home manager at Winchcombe Place, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.

“We cannot wait to open our doors to the community to showcase everything Winchcombe Place has to offer and the difference care homes make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing. We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Newbury.”
