From 11.30am-4.40pm, the team at Highbury New Park will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Highbury New Park has organised a summer garden party to celebrate the open day. There will be a selection of tasty snacks to tempt visitors, including a chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows. Visitors will also be able to enjoy tea and cake alongside live sing-along entertainment from Pearly King, and take part in fun games and sporting activities throughout the afternoon. There will also be competitions for best dressed hat and best decorated cake.
The friendly team at Highbury New Park will also be on hand to give advice and information on the different types of care they provide.
Lia Smochina, home manager at Highbury New Park, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“We cannot wait to open our doors to the community to showcase everything Highbury New Park has to offer and the difference care homes make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing. We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Islington.”
