From 1.30pm-4pm, the team at Ferndown Manor will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Ferndown Manor has organised a summer garden party to celebrate the open day. Guests will be tempted with a summer picnic, including tasty treats such as strawberries and cream, ice creams, traditional cream tea and sandwiches. There will be fun garden games for all the family, and a prize will be awarded to the person who comes in the ‘best summer hat’.
Janet Lewis, home manager at Ferndown Manor, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“We look forward to opening our doors to the community to showcase everything Ferndown Manor has to offer and the difference care homes can make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing. We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Ferndown.”
