The team at Cairdean House opened the doors to the care home for Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative designed to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Residents and visitors enjoyed fun and games including a tombola, croquet, a bouncy castle for younger visitors and a prize raffle - some guests even took part in a charity sponge throw, aiming for the newly appointed home manager, Gillian Goodall.
Gillian Goodall, home manager at Cairdean House, said: “We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating Care Home Open Day with the local community. The event was a brilliant opportunity to break down preconceptions about care home life and showcase the warm and welcoming care environment here at Cairdean House.
“The residents loved taking part in the summer games, and everyone had a giggle during the sponge throw. We look forward to welcoming the people of Colinton to join us again very soon.”
