From 2pm – 4pm Colne View is inviting the community to dress up in yellow and join residents for its Big Yellow Friday event, to help raise money for the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF).
Guests will enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of fund raising activities, including a raffle, games and a magical performance from a local magician, Magic Iain, and a tempting selection of homemade cakes and treats – all of which will be available for a small donation to CLDF.
Big Yellow Friday is the national awareness and fundraising day of the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation. Hundreds of people around the country will be taking part in yellow themed activities in a bid to raise funds to fight childhood liver disease, for which there is still no cure.
Home manager, Omar Taylor, explained why Colne View is taking part in Big Yellow Friday: “A close friend of mine was diagnosed after a long struggle through transplants and treatments. He has been helped throughout his life by CLDF, so I understand just how important the organisation is to the people who need it most.
“Another friend of mine is running the London Marathon in April on behalf of CLDF, so the team and residents here at Colne View wanted to get behind him for a great cause.
“This charity event gives us a wonderful opportunity to invite the local community, family and friends to join us for a fun afternoon, while raising funds to support the vital services and support provided by the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation.
“It’s set to be a great day and we hope the local community will get into the spirit of the event and join the team and don a yellow outfit for the occasion!”
