The Lady Dannatt MBE performed the official ribbon cutting to open the new suite at Cavell Court.
The local community joined the Care UK team and residents for the celebration and had the opportunity to take a first look around the new residential and nursing suite, which will provide care for 28 older people.
Visitors also had the opportunity to get up close with a host of feathered friends, when the Fritton Owl Sanctuary flew in for a special visit. Everyone had the chance to meet owls of different species, and find out more about the birds.
There was also a special performance from local harpist, Xenia Horne, and everyone enjoyed a slice of cake prepared especially for the occasion by the care home’s head chef, Tom Barnes.
Samantha Woods, customer relations manager at Cavell Court, said: “As with everything we do at Cavell Court, residents, their families and the local community were at the heart of our event to commemorate the opening of the new suite. We were delighted so many people joined us as we marked this important milestone, and would like to say a special thank you to The Lady Dannett for her continued support of Cavell Court.
“We now look forward to welcoming residents to their impressive new home over the coming months.”
