On Thursday 9th February, from 10am-12 noon, Heather View will open the doors to the care home for its free event offering advice and guidance to all.
Harm Gordijn from Falls Management Training will give expert advice and guidance on preventing falls, tips on activities and exercises that improve balance and reduce the risk of falls, and advice on how to maintain independence.
After the event, there will be a Q&A session with Harm, and visitors who attend the event will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Heather View and take a tour of the care home.
Trish Banks, home manager at Heather View said: “Here at Heather View, we seek to provide in-depth advice to people in the local community on topics relating to our work. Falls prevention is very important to the team here, and to the wellbeing of the residents, as accidental falls can occasionally lead to further health issues.
“It is imperative we create a safe environment for older people in the community, so we’re sharing our expertise to help ensure the correct safety procedures are in place to prevent accidents.”
