Maria Covington, from Orpington, will lead the team, made up of 109 members at full residency, at Weald Heights care home on Bourchier Close.
Maria, a registered nurse, will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the care home, which will accommodate up to 80 residents. Having worked within the care sector for almost 25 years, Maria has built up extensive experience caring for residents and supporting their families.
Commenting on her new position, Maria said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as home manager at one of Care UK’s most impressive new homes, and I look forward to working with a skilled and passionate team to position Weald Heights as a beacon of excellent care in Sevenoaks.
“I strongly believe the residents should be the focus of the home and at the centre of everything we do – Weald Heights is their home and the Care UK team are guests within it. I will be leading by example by ensuring residents continue to live active and fulfilled lives in a peaceful environment, and I look forward to getting to know them and their families.”
Angi Knight, regional director, said: “The arrival of Weald Heights to Sevenoaks represents an important investment for Care UK, and we’re thrilled to have Maria on board. Every detail has been considered to provide the highest standards of care, but having the right people working in the home is key to the overall experience of residents.
“Maria is a highly experienced, motivated individual and has a successful track record in her career to date. I know she will play an important part in driving standards to ensure Weald Heights builds a reputation for quality, person-centred care.”
Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives while promoting independence, Weald Heights will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the building will also facilitate the creation of close knit communities and will be configured into a series of individual suites with a dedicated lounge/dining room. Each bedroom will have an en-suite bathroom, together with a flat-screen television, adjustable profile bed, and a 24-hour nurse call system.
As part of its premium offering, Weald Heights will also offer a custom dining service, allowing residents to order food to be delivered by a hostess, while the ground floor dining area has been designed with the ability to be turned into a ballroom for larger activities and events. Additional space has been utilised to create a multi-purpose hobbies and reminiscence room for residents to utilise at their leisure.
