Residents and the Care UK team at Cavell Court welcomed Morrisons’ Norwich Community Champion, Geoff Nichols, for its very own expert baking session.
With the help of Geoff, residents at Cavell Court spent the afternoon learning the basics of baking, before making a selection of their very own biscuits and shortbread. Once baked, everyone who took part sat down to enjoy their creations with a well-deserved cup of tea.
A number of residents will also have the opportunity to visit their local Morrisons store for a personal behind the scenes tour of the bakery.
Kelly Mendham, home manager at Cavell Court, said: “We were delighted to welcome Geoff for our very own baking session at the home as part of our regular activity sessions.
“It was great to see so many of the residents getting involved with the session, as for many of them baking has been a lifelong hobby. We find that the process of mixing certain ingredients and the smells associated with baking can trigger memories and nostalgic feelings, and can be extremely relaxing for residents. After all of their hard work, everyone was able to sit down and enjoy their delicious freshly baked biscuits.”
