A lively afternoon was had by all, with the help of the Stockton to Darlington Ukulele band, who encouraged audience participation in any way possible. Kazoos were handed out to everyone, and after a quick lesson all joined in the with Ventress Hall’s very own rendition of ‘Delilah’. There was much singing and laughing throughout the show.
Judy Wray, home manager, said: “It was so pleasing to see both residents and visitors having such a wonderful time.
We all enjoyed a lively afternoon of memories and melodies, and due to their popularity, we hope to welcome the band back to Ventress Hall again later in the year.”
As always, we had numerous stalls, and the craft stalls courtesy of the Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College proved very popular with their beautifully hand-crafted items for sale.
Food and refreshments are always very popular amongst our visitors, and this year was no different – the barbecue and cake stall were a big hit, but also our new savoury stall also proved a popular addition to the refreshments on offer.
Judy said: “A big thank you to all the team who contributed their own time along with staff on duty and to Jan and her colleagues from the Sixth Form College.”
