The free event will be held on Wednesday, September 28 from 10am to 12pm, and will include practical advice from Octavia Stoodley from Ashtons Legal and Later Life Adviser, Steve Hendrie.
The speakers will provide an overview of the options for funding long-term care, outline legal considerations such as making a will and power of attorney, as well as offering their expertise during a Q&A session. The event will also provide an opportunity to meet the friendly team at Glastonbury Court and take a look around the purpose-built care home and adjacent Glastonbury Club, which provides flexible day care for older people living locally. Complimentary refreshments will also be provided.
Jennie Rodger, home manager at Glastonbury Court, said: “Planning care for yourself or a loved one can be a difficult and confusing time. We hope our free event will help older people and their relatives to better understand the process of arranging long-term care, and to feel more confident in making the right decisions when the time comes.”
