From 10am to 3pm, the Care UK team at Cavell Court care home is opening the doors to the care home on Dragonfly Lane. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely cuppa with residents, along with a tempting selection of homemade cakes and treats – all of which will be available for a small donation to Macmillan.
As well as the chance to try out some of the home made treats, visitors will also be able to enjoy a spot of shopping at the home-made card, stationary and wrapping paper stall and, for those who are after a touch of pampering, a beautician will be on hand to offer a number of relaxing treatments.
Kelly Mendham, home manager at Cavell Court, said: “We are all looking forward to joining the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. This charity event is so simple and yet it gives us a wonderful opportunity to invite the local community, family and friends to join us for tea, cake and a chat, while raising funds to support the vital services and support provided by Macmillan.”
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. Last year alone the initiative raised a record-breaking £27.6 million for the charity, thanks to people from all over the UK hosting coffee mornings and making donations on the day to Macmillan.
