The Field Lodge team run regular surveys to capture residents’ feedback and ideas to enhance the home. Home manager, Lisa Houghton (at the unveiling with David Porter, Marian Reedman and Mike Parish, CEO of Care UK) says, “At Field Lodge we’re passionate about helping residents to play an active part in the running of the home. Regular surveys are a great way of doing this and have also led to residents choosing colour schemes and wallpapers when we redecorated parts of the home.”
The Old London occupies part of the home’s coffee shop. It’s fully functioning and comes complete with tankards, bar stools and even its own pub sign. Toby Swallow, customer relations manager at Field Lodge says, “David has done an amazing job on the bar, helping us to create another great feature that residents can enjoy at Field Lodge. Residents can now come along for a drink on their own, or with friends and visitors, and can choose from a range of alcoholic and soft drinks, as well as snacks.”
Residents are delighted with the new facility and pub quiz evenings are already planned. Thanks to the regular surveys, there are sure to be many more ideas coming from residents about how to make the most of the Old London.
Next time you’re visiting a friend or relative at Field Lodge, make sure you come along to the Old London for a drink and a chat. See you there!
