In this ‘first’ for Field Lodge, three of the home team took four residents on a three-night stay to Heacham Beach Holiday Park in Hunstanton, staying in two large luxury caravans.
After enjoying fascinating and fun trips to the Queen’s nearby estate at Sandringham, the Sea Life Centre in Hunstanton, as well as the penny arcades, residents tucked in to tasty treats like fish and chips, ice cream and fresh doughnuts as they watched the sun go down.
Sam Shepherd, activities coordinator at Field Lodge, who went on the trip says, “The resort was well set up for our group and it wasn’t too far from the home. The residents chose what they wanted to do and where they wanted to go, including enjoying some pleasant evenings and dinners at local pubs and restaurants.
“We were extremely lucky with the weather, which made a huge difference. Above all, we’ve made some special memories to cherish. Hopefully we’ll be able to do it again next summer.”
Since returning from the holiday, the residents have been enthusiastically sharing their holiday stories with friends and family. “The whole experience was great,” says Denis Rule. “I probably most enjoyed going to the beach and having an ice-cream.” Edna Thurston, another of the group who went on the trip, simply says, “It was all fantastic fun. I’d certainly love to go again next time.”
