Cavell Court, which is situated on Dragonfly Lane, has so far welcomed a total of 150 residents for long-term or respite care since it first opened its doors a year ago.
Topping off its first year, residents, friends and family, and the Care UK team celebrated the day with a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, complete with a birthday cake and tasty treats homemade by the care home’s head chef, Wayne Robinson. One of the care home’s first residents, Beryl Bear, was given the honour of cutting the cake.
The lifestyle team also lead fun activities, including an artwork session to make a Cheshire Cat mask and a ‘Mad Hatter’ hat making competition, with the prize awarded to resident Thelma Harman for her stripy design.
Live entertainment was provided by residents’ favourite singers Fred and Edna, who performed a variety of songs, including country classics.
Samantha Woods, customer relations manager at Cavell Court, said: “We were all incredibly excited to mark our first birthday. Everyone felt it was an important milestone for Cavell Court and the team worked very hard to ensure we celebrated in style.
“The last year has really flown by and we are all very proud of Cavell Court – not least the warm and welcoming care environment we have created here in Cringleford. We have had such fantastic local support over the last year and we did not want to miss the opportunity to get into the party spirit and say a huge thank you to everyone involved in our success.”
