On Thursday 15th September, from 10am-11.30am, the team at Colne View care home on Dame Mary Walk are joining forces with Penny Griffiths, financial adviser at Eldercare, and Hill & Abbott Solicitors.
The free information-led event will provide guidance on funding long-term care and powers of attorney – whether caring for someone in their own home or looking at residential care. From 12.30pm, Penny will be offering private financial consultations and one-to-one sessions will be available, these can be booked by contacting the team at Colne View.
On Thursday 22nd September, Robert Outen, falls prevention specialist, will be on hand to give expert advice on preventing falls. From 1pm-3pm, he will discuss common causes of slips and trips, and guidance on how to create safer environments for older people, together with activities and exercises to improve balance and reduce the risk of falls.
Omar Taylor, home manager at Colne View, said: “We have listened to the local community and planning future care and falls prevention are areas where advice and guidance are regularly sought by those who want care for an older friend or loved one. We have therefore invited experienced professionals to Colne View to provide support for people in Halstead and the local area.
“There will also be a chance to meet the team at Colne View and to take a look around the care home. All are welcome, however places are limited so I would urge those interested to register their attendance.”
