Kenilworth Grange care home invites people in Kenilworth to celebrate Care Home Open Day

Care UK’s Kenilworth Grange care home in Kenilworth is inviting local people to visit the home on Spring Lane on Saturday 18th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 2.30pm until 4.30pm, the team at Kenilworth Grange will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities. 

There will be a ‘right royal knees up’ at Kenilworth Grange to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday with residents and visitors invited to meet the Kenilworth Carnival Queen and enjoy afternoon tea at the home. All those who drop-by on the day can also take the opportunity to tour the care home and meet the team at Kenilworth Grange.

Sheridan Farish, home manager at Kenilworth Grange, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.  

“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Kenilworth Grange has to offer. 

“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Saturday 18th June and welcoming the people of Kenilworth to be a part of it.” 

Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Kenilworth Grange will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age.  The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age.  The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
