From 11am - 4.30pm, the team at Catherine Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
In honour of The Queen’s 90th birthday, there will be right royal celebration at Catherine Court on Saturday. Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a traditional street party with complementary food and drink, and there will be a royal quiz taking place in the morning. There will also be a fun pantomime to get everyone in the party spirit. All those who drop by on the day will also have the opportunity to meet the Care UK team at Catherine Court and take a tour of the care home.
Temby Nyemba, home manager at Catherine Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Catherine Court has to offer.
“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Saturday 18th June and welcoming the people of High Wycombe to be a part of it.”
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at High Wycombe will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age. The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age.
