Manor Lodge was one of thousands of care homes across the UK which took part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with even more people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Linda Denston, was amongst the visitors to Manor Lodge who enjoyed a host of activities. One of the highlights of the day was live entertainment from an accordionist, and birds of prey demonstration. There was also a raffle, street party with a selection of homemade cakes and fish and chips supper served in newspaper cone.
Juliana Miles, Home Manager at Manor Lodge, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike. We all are proud of the warm and welcoming quality care environment we have created here at Manor Lodge, and we took great delight in showcasing our home and all the good work we do here”.
“The day was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community.”
