Stanecroft care home invites people in Dorking to celebrate Care Home Open Day

Care UK’s Stanecroft care home in Dorking is inviting local people to visit the home on Spook Hill on Friday 17th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 10am until 4pm, the team at Stanecroft will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities. 

There will be a carnival spirit at Stanecroft on Friday, with the event themed around the Rio 2016 Olympics.  Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy Brazilian-inspired nibbles and cocktails, as well as entertainment and4 Rio arts and crafts.  All who drop-by can tour the home, and meet residents and the Care UK team at Stanecroft.

Pamela Norman, home manager at Stanecroft, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.  

“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Stanecroft has to offer. 

“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Dorking to be a part of it.”
