From 2pm until 4pm, members of the public are welcome to pop-in to the Care UK care home on Dame Mary Walk where pots of tea and coffee will be served along with a tempting selection of homemade cakes – all in exchange for a donation to Sport Relief.
Omar Taylor, home manager at Colne View, said: “As many residents here love baking and get great enjoyment out it as an activity, we decided to put our skills to good use and show our support for Sport Relief with a charity bake-off and cake sale.
“We hope members of the local community will join us in our fundraising efforts. All are welcome to bring along their own bakes or it is absolutely fine to come along and choose from the array of cakes which will be available on the day. We are all looking forward to a fun afternoon with family and friends.”
Sport Relief is a national charity initiative from the same team as Comic Relief. Of all the money raised, 50 per cent is used to make a difference in the UK and 50 per cent goes towards transforming lives across the world’s poorest communities.
