From 10.30am to 12.30pm, Harm Gordijn, from Falls Management Training, will be discussing tactics for preventing falls, as well as providing guidance on how to create safer environments, encourage independence and reduce balance problems.
After the event, Harm will be on hand to answer any questions, and there will also be an opportunity for members of the public to meet the carers at Brook Court and take a tour of the home.
Brook Court home manager, Joanne Gill, said: “Here at Brook Court, we seek to provide in-depth advice to people in the local community on topics relating to our work. Falls prevention is very important to the team here, and to the wellbeing of the residents, as accidental falls can occasionally lead to further health issues. It is imperative we create a safe environment for older people in the community and ensure the correct safety procedures are in place to prevent accidents.”
