The Amberley Lodge care team welcomed family, friends and local people into the home on Downlands Road to celebrate the unveiling of the newly-refurbished suite, which will provide specialist dementia care for up to 14 older people in Purley, Croydon. To coincide with the celebrations, singer Linda Barrett provided live entertainment on the day.
Home manager, Krystyna Bosko, said: “As with everything we do at Amberley Lodge, residents, their families and the local community were at the heart of the event to commemorate the opening of the Biggin Hill suite.
“With the investment in the refurbishment of the suite complete, we were delighted so many people joined us as we marked this important milestone, and we were honoured the Mayor of Croydon also played a part in our celebrations. We now look forward to welcoming residents to their impressive new home over the coming months.”
Amberley Lodge is a modern care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care; as well as short-term respite care.
Designed to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has a host of facilities including its very own sensory room, reminiscence room and activities room. It also has a hairdressing salon, library and contemplation room; and there is plenty of space outdoors too for relaxation and recreation in the care home’s secure gardens.
